12 Session Cognitive Behaviour Therapy


Sandalwood Wellness offers a 12 session Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) program. This program does not replace or substitute regular counselling therapy, rather it provides participants with tools and techniques to enhance their wellbeing. Topics include depression, anxiety, anger, relationships and will also include homework assignments for participants to complete.


We offer this course in a weekly 1 hour session spanning over 12 weeks.


This option is great for those with low-income, or those hesitant about attending regular therapy sessions.

Relationships 101 Program


Discover Sandalwood's Relationship 101 program, this is an 8 session psychoeducational program to help participants enhance their relationship skills and build new skills. This program is intended for individuals and not couples, and does not replace or substitute regular couples counselling.


Individuals who are seeking new and enhanced relationship skills are encouraged to sign up for this program as a check in personally to reevaluate their own relationships with others and themselves. Topics included are anger, gratitude, communication skills and styles, as well participants will be given weekly homework assignments to complete.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)


Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a client-centered and experiential educational group intervention. The program's core consists of intense training in mindfulness meditation and its applications in everyday life, as well as dealing with stress, discomfort, and sickness. The meditator pays attention to whatever comes up in his or her mind, noting sense impressions, thoughts, and emotions without passing judgement.

Mindfulness meditation gradually trains a person to be present with his or her mind and body, regardless of what is going on around them.


As part of the programme, mindful movement in the style of Hatha yoga is included. The MBSR programme lasts eight weeks and includes one full day of silent retreat.

Personal Safety for Mental Health Practitioners


Mental health practitioners are at an increased risk of experiencing violence, be it verbal, or physical. More and more mental health practitioners are taking their work out in the community and working with populations where there's little to no control or expectations you would find in an office setting.


Sandalwood Wellness offers a complete workshop on personal safety, tailored for mental health practitioners of a variety of backgrounds and settings. Learn valuable skills and gain confidence with this workshop, take it individually or schedule it for your entire team.

Making Your Space Queer Informed and Safe


With an increase in demand for making spaces queer safe, it simply is not enough to put a sticker on the door saying "Safe Space" or "All Welcome Here". There is still an increase in incidents of Queer folks feeling unsafe in places that are labelled as "safe" This is due to no formal training being given by staff on site to be not only educated but informed of how to best interact with Queer folks.


Our workshop is dedicated to educating and informing folks on best language practices, and how to actually make a space safe and inclusive for all Queer folks. Our workshop also includes education and information on up to date safe and not safe terms and words to use, unlearning harmful language and assumptions, reducing stigma, and providing comprehensive resource packages.


Wellness for all doesn't start and end in the counselling office, it happens out in the world, it's preventative action, and its tangible action.
